| I brought a mid century modern chair to be reupholstered to Lisa Jo at Priness Perfect at the beginning of February. She quoted me 600$ to do the work. I thought a little much, but we went over everything in detail, and I agreed. She called at end of the month and said it was ready for pickup. the cost had gone up by 46%. Apparently she said quote did not include the fabric.
Issue number 1: In our original conversation I told her that the 600$ quote was more than I wanted to spend, but that I had heard good things about her and so I agreed. She should have said that 600$ was just for labour. Had I known that it as going to be more I never would have agreed to the work. Isuue number 2: After I pickup the chair and took it home I sat in it...it broke. I had paid for the frame to be fixed. They glue over top of the old glue and simply clamped it. If anyone knows anything about wood working, you cannot do that. Issue number three. Appently in 1964 they had the technology to adhere fabric to foam, In 2010, somehow that information has been lost. The material is already pulling away from the foam backing. Issue number 4: The Stiching on the head rest is coming undone. Issue number 5: There was a seam added on the arms, I imagine because the original was perhaps difficult to replicated. However, this changes the asthetic of the chair, and now creates these weird little flairs on both arms. There are several other companies out there would could do a better job. -Joe- | ||
